Binge Drinking

Binge drinking is drinking lots of alcohol in a short time to get drunk. If you do this, you’re likely to have many physical symptoms including:

  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • a hangover
  • shakiness
  • memory loss
  • passing out

Some people just accept these symptoms as part of drinking.

Excessive drinking (like binge drinking) can lead to:

  • making poor choices or decisions you wouldn't normally make
  • hurting yourself (from being reckless or assaulted)
  • alcohol poisoning
  • unplanned, unwanted or unprotected sex
  • health problems

Alcohol Poisoning

If you have any of these symptoms, you may have alcohol poisoning:

  • feeling very confused
  • vomiting
  • seizures
  • the skin looking blue
  • repeated passing out
  • lower body temperature than normal

If you think someone has alcohol poisoning, call 911 right away and don’t leave the person alone.

If you drink, be responsible and don't let it control you. It can have many negative effects on your life.
