Most pregnant people have healthy babies, and that includes people who carry extra weight. But having extra weight can increase the chance of problems during pregnancy, labour, and delivery. It can also make it harder to get pregnant.
There's also a lot you can do to improve your chances of having a healthy pregnancy. Work with your healthcare provider to get the care you need during your pregnancy. Remember, pregnancy is not the time to lose weight.
