Foodborne illness
Environmental illness can be caused by substances such as chemicals, pollution, toxins, and unsafe water. You can be exposed to these at home, at work, or in your community.
Symptoms can be mild to severe. Finding the cause can take a long time. Talk to your healthcare provider about any symptoms you have.
If you think you’ve had an exposure to a substance you’re not sure about, call the Poison and Drug Information Service (PADIS). In Alberta, call 1-800-332-1414 anytime day or night.
