Depending on your symptoms, you may be referred to a vascular surgeon, a diabetes management clinic, or a foot care clinic. These specialists will review your test results, may order more tests, and can give you advice on how to manage your condition.
If you need surgery, you will be referred to a vascular surgeon.
If your healthcare provider refers you to a specialist, ask them when you should expect to hear from the specialist. Follow up with your healthcare provider if you don’t hear from the specialist by that time.
