Your Guide After a Hip Fracture

Overview

Recovering from a broken hip is a team effort: it includes you, your family and friends, and your healthcare team, which may be made up of doctors, nurses, physical therapists (PTs), occupational therapists (OTs), a social worker, transition nurse, dietitian, and geriatric specialist. Your healthcare team developed this resource to help you along as you recover. Please make sure you speak with your team if you have questions or concerns.

The Hip Fracture Care Pathway will be used to plan your care and discharge from hospital. A pathway shows you all of the steps in your treatment, starting from before your surgery until you are recovering at home. Your healthcare team will work with you and your family so that you recover faster and go home sooner
