Care instructions
There may be times when it is difficult to eat. Often soft, moist, or liquid foods are the easiest to eat.
How can you care for yourself at home?
Try the food and drink ideas below to help you get the nutrition you need.
Soft food
Vegetables and fruits
- soft, cooked vegetables with a cheese or cream sauce
- canned fruit with cottage cheese
- ripe melon, avocado, or bananas
Grain foods
- cereal soaked in milk
- buttered noodles with parmesan cheese
Protein foods
- scrambled eggs or omelet
- egg salad or tuna salad on a soft, crustless buttered bread
- baked beans or other soft, cooked peas, beans, or lentils with sauce
- soft, cooked poultry or meat with sauce
Mixed dishes
- chunky soup or stew
- pasta dishes with meat and sauce
- shepherd’s pie
Very soft food
Vegetables and fruits
- creamed corn or blended vegetables
- mashed potatoes, carrots, or squash
- applesauce or pureed fruits
- stewed or mashed fruits

- boiled or poached eggs
- plain or flavoured full fat Greek yogurt
