If your loved one has ICU delirium, you may notice that they:
- have trouble recognizing people they know
- have trouble thinking clearly
- have trouble paying attention
- have trouble doing things that they could do before they were in the hospital
- see or hear things that aren’t there
- get very angry and upset, or seem very drowsy and quiet
- have trouble understanding what is going on around them including where they are or what happened to them
- are confused about where they are or what time it is
- have a sudden change in mood or behavior
- have a change in sleeping pattern
