Common Drugs

A drug is any substance that changes the way a person thinks, feels, or behaves. Legal drugs like alcohol and tobacco are commonly used. Many people take prescription drugs like painkillers, sleeping pills, and anti-depressants under a doctor's supervision. However, many prescription drugs are misused.

Misusing drugs and using illegal drugs like cocaine, LSD, amphetamines, and heroin can cause problems in people’s lives. Drug use can also affect their health and relationships. Many people lose their jobs or have money problems.
