Thoracic surgeons are medical doctors who specialize in chest, heart, and lung surgery. Thoracic surgeons may further specialize in one area, such as heart surgery or lung surgery, or in a sub-specialty of that area, such as coronary artery bypass surgery.
Thoracic surgeons are certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
