Health Information
Not all children are able to sit, walk, or run by themselves. These issues may be temporary or last for a longer time.
Your healthcare provider may start talking to you about equipment for your child if they have limited mobility and are unable to support themselves independently in positions like sitting or standing. As your child gets older, there are services to help teens with a disability, or those who need additional supports, to gain independence through driving.
Pediatric rehabilitation can help if your child is having challenges in these areas of development.
Learn about equipment to support sitting and moving such as walkers, wheelchairs, standing frames, braces, and supportive seating. Whatever position your child uses equipment for, learn how it will support your child in a safe and comfortable way.
Remember to talk to your healthcare providers for any questions or concerns that you have.
