Guide To Your Well Child Clinic Visit

4-year visit

In Alberta, babies and children see public health nurses at well child clinic visits at their local community health or public health centre. All regular childhood immunizations are provided at the well child clinic visit. There, public health nurses will also offer other services for your family that promote wellness and prevent disease.

Healthy Parents, Healthy Children is Alberta’s practical guide for pregnancy and being a parent. The Healthy Parents, Healthy Children books and website answer your questions about having the healthiest pregnancy possible and helping young children grow, learn, and be healthy. For your 4-year well child clinic visit, explore the links below for information on supporting your 4-year-old, or look up the page numbers in the Healthy Parents, Healthy Children: The Early Years book. Ask your healthcare provider how to get a copy.
