Welcome to this MyHealth.Alberta.ca learning module. Our learning modules are very easy to use.
The best way to move through the module is to use the navigation arrows at the bottom of each page. You can see the arrows at the bottom of this page. They will move you forwards or backwards, tell you the page number you’re on, and how many pages are in the module.
If you leave the module, you can pick up at the page you left off. On desktop or laptop computers, use the headings on the left (left-hand navigation). On mobile devices, use the headings from the menu at the top of the page.
On desktop or laptop computers, you can make the text bigger or smaller by clicking these icons
at top right of this page. On computers, smartphones, and tablets you can also activate the built-in magnifier or increase the font size (by accessing your device’s settings).
This learning module is for educational purposes only. It is not meant to replace professional medical advice.
Increasing visual comfort when viewing this module
If it’s hard to tolerate reading the screen, try decreasing your screen brightness. You can also use your device’s dark mode or built-in screen filter (night shift for Macs or night light for PCs).
Remember to sit parallel to a window. Do not face a window or have your back to one.
Use the 20-20-20 rule: for every 20 minutes of using your screen, take a 20-second break and look into the distance (around 20 feet away).
If these strategies don’t help, you can use a screen reader (like Read Aloud, Apple’s Speak Selection, or Android’s Select to Speak) so your device or computer reads the on-screen text out loud. You can also print off the module’s pages and read them. Use the print icon
to choose which pages to print.
