Medical treatment

Medical treatments can help ease pain and make it easier to do everyday activities as part of your care plan.

Medicines and substances to reduce pain

Medicines and other substances can sometimes help reduce pain and make daily life more manageable. These may include over-the-counter medicines, prescriptions, or treatments used with medical guidance. They often work best when you use them with other methods, like exercise, therapy, and healthy lifestyle changes.

Therapies and procedures

Sometimes, procedures or surgeries may be recommended to help reduce pain or treat its cause. These options are usually considered when other treatments haven’t worked well and are designed to your needs. They often work best when used with other strategies, like rehabilitation, therapy, and self-care.
